I spent a month getting to know NYC. One of my most common findings? People want connection. This was me saying thank you for joining my journey and giving connection.

The Sonder Series was one hundred interviews, five boroughs, thirty-two days, one hundred and eighty miles walked — the length of Manhattan thirteen times. The potluck was the cherry on top: everyone I'd talked to, all in one park at golden hour, with dishes to share.

Sonder — the back of the postcard

The realization that a random passerby is living

a life as vivid & complex as your own.

A feeling that happens only when you put down your phone,

when you loan your attention to the present

and awaken from the slumber of distraction.

When you let the light of the world touch you without refraction,

in that way each of us has had an interaction

a moment without fight where our stories swirled.

Such is the way of serendipity and Sonder.

So as I ponder the time we spent and queries of life,

I am grateful to you for being part of the series.
