My name is James. I started playing soccer when I was 2. My first memory is playing pass with my parents who were kicking the ball with their toes. They weren't very good.
As I grew up I played in every rec and club league in my city, I loved the competition, but more so I loved the beauty of well played soccer. The ease of meeting new people and getting a good workout in. As I've grown up, even despite times of straying away from the game I've always come back with more love for it.
Each fresh look has brought me new friends, happy memories, and a stronger self.
This is my most recent return to the game, where people from over 10 countries and ages 10 to 40 have come to play.
In New York you could go pay 10-20$ a game, have referees, and all that comes with that, but I didn't want to darken the game with any of that.
So this is free, simple, pickup soccer for my new community in New York City.
